The overall objective is to establish a three-year education/research programme in grid computing between the EU and Asia. The programme will continue running after this project is completed, attributing to the sustainability of the framework. More specifically it will:
- Develop a standardised curriculum covering six modules in grid computing at Master of Science level.
- Offer up-to-date knowledge and modern teaching methods to students and teachers at the Asian partner institutions.
- Expose students to state-of-the-art equipment and to a modern international working discipline/culture by involving them in projects running in Europe.
- Allow students who successfully defend their Master's theses to obtain two degrees within the same period.
- Establish a testbed linking Asia and Europe to interact the Grids in Asia and Europe.
- Use the EC grant as 'seed money' to get started, develop and be running even beyond the project period.
